Tanzanian singer Marioo has issued a scathing warning to what he described as “city men, women, and public figures,” accusing them of repeatedly interfering in his relationship with model and influencer Paula Kajala.
In a strongly worded Instagram Story posted on Monday, the Mi Amor hitmaker alleged that during Paula’s pregnancy, several well-known individuals — including public figures and politicians — attempted to convince her to terminate the pregnancy, arguing that he was “not good enough for her.”
Marioo wrote in Swahili that he was thankful Paula ignored the advice, saying:“When my girlfriend was pregnant, many self-proclaimed know-it-alls came forward and tried to persuade her to abort the pregnancy because they believed I wasn’t right for her. Many of these people are famous — you all know them. I thank my girlfriend because she didn’t do it, and I ignored it. Life went on.”

The artist went on to accuse the same people of continuing to contact Paula — even after his public post on Sunday, 12 October — allegedly attempting to pursue or influence her once again.
“Now, this is my final word to city men and women, public figures, and politicians,” he wrote. “I’ll start exposing everyone who keeps trying to link up with or flirt with my fiancée. I don’t care about your status — I have the chats. She keeps turning you down, but you keep trying. You should be ashamed.”
The Instagram outburst comes just a day after Marioo publicly accused Paula, who is also the daughter of Tanzanian actress Frida Kajala, of halting the release of his new music video Njozi featuring Rwandan singer Element Eleeh. He claimed Paula had objected to certain scenes in the video that showed him in affectionate poses with a female vixen.

The Njozi video, which had reportedly been delayed for days, was officially released on YouTube earlier today, 13 October 2025. Within hours, it attracted thousands of views and sparked renewed online debate about the couple’s strained relationship.
Marioo’s latest statement marks an escalation in a public back-and-forth that has captured the attention of East African entertainment audiences. His tone suggested deep frustration with what he perceives as external attempts to undermine his relationship — and a readiness to expose those involved.
While Marioo did not name anyone directly, his warning has prompted speculation among fans and entertainment blogs about who he was referring to.
Neither Paula nor her mother has responded to the claims, and requests for comment from their representatives have gone unanswered.
