Editorial Policy

Last Updated: October 2025

At Nijuze, our mission is to provide accurate, fair, and engaging journalism that informs, educates, and inspires our audience. This Editorial Policy outlines the principles and standards that guide our reporting, content creation, and editorial decisions.

1. Accuracy and Fact-Checking

We are committed to accuracy and verification in all our reporting. All facts, statistics, and quotes are checked against reliable and credible sources before publication. Our commitment to truth and accuracy forms the foundation of our credibility and public trust.

2. Impartiality and Balance

Nijuze strives for impartiality and balance in its coverage. We present multiple perspectives on issues, giving voice to diverse opinions while avoiding bias, favoritism, or undue influence.

3. Integrity and Independence

Our editorial team operates independently of external pressures from advertisers, political groups, or other stakeholders. Editorial decisions are guided solely by journalistic principles and the public interest.

4. Transparency

We are transparent about our sources, methodologies, and any potential conflicts of interest. When reporting on sponsored content or partnerships, such material is clearly labeled to maintain audience trust.

5. Respect for Privacy

Nijuze respects the privacy and dignity of individuals. Personal information is handled responsibly and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We avoid unnecessary intrusion into private lives unless doing so serves a clear and legitimate public interest.

6. Human-Interest and Tanzanian Context

Our journalism is deeply rooted in the Tanzanian context, reflecting the realities, cultures, and voices of the people we serve. We prioritize stories that highlight human experiences, social issues, and community impact. At the heart of our work is a firm commitment to put people at the center of every story we tell, ensuring our journalism is inclusive, empathetic, and meaningful to Tanzanian communities.

7. Accountability and Corrections

At Nijuze, we are committed to accuracy, fairness, and transparency in all our reporting. We value the trust of our readers and take our responsibility to provide reliable and factual information very seriously. While we strive to ensure that every story we publish is thoroughly verified and accurate, mistakes can occasionally occur. When they do, we are committed to correcting them promptly, clearly, and openly.

a. Our Commitment to Accuracy

Before publication, all our stories go through fact-checking and editorial review to ensure accuracy, balance, and fairness. However, if an error is discovered — whether in facts, spelling, quotes, dates, statistics, or any other form — we will correct it as soon as possible.

b. How We Handle Corrections
  • Minor Errors: Small typographical or grammatical mistakes that do not affect the overall meaning or accuracy of the story may be corrected silently without issuing a formal correction note.
  • Substantive Errors: Factual errors or inaccuracies that affect understanding, context, or fairness will be corrected publicly. A correction note will appear at the end of the article explaining what was wrong and how it has been corrected.
  • Updates: When new information becomes available after publication, we may update the story to include it. An editor’s note will indicate that the article has been updated and why.
c. How to Request a Correction

We welcome readers’ feedback and encourage anyone who believes we have published incorrect or misleading information to contact us. If you spot an error, please email info@nijuze.com with:

  • The article title and URL
  • The part you believe is incorrect
  • The correct information (if known)
  • Your contact details

Our editorial team will review the request, verify the claim, and make corrections or clarifications where necessary.

d. Transparency and Record Keeping

We do not remove or hide content simply because it is challenged or controversial. Instead, we correct or update the content transparently while keeping a clear record of the change. When appropriate, we may also issue clarifications, editor’s notes, or retractions — always in line with journalistic ethics and the public interest.

e. Retractions

In rare cases where a story is found to be fundamentally flawed or based on false or unethical reporting, Nijuze may retract it entirely. A retraction notice will replace the original content, explaining the reason for the decision.
We believe that correcting our mistakes strengthens our credibility and deepens the trust between us and our readers.

8. Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

At Nijuze, we responsibly use AI tools to enhance our journalism — for example, in language refinement, transcription, data analysis, and multimedia production. However, editorial judgment, ethical decisions, and final content approval are always made by human editors. AI is a supporting tool, not a replacement for human creativity, integrity, or accountability. Any AI-generated or AI-assisted content published directly is clearly labeled to ensure transparency.

9. Editorial Independence

All editorial content is produced free from commercial, political, or external influence. Opinion pieces are clearly labeled and distinct from news reporting to maintain editorial clarity and trust.

10. Ethical Reporting

All Nijuze journalists and contributors adhere to the highest standards of journalistic ethics — including honesty, fairness, accuracy, and respect for human dignity. We do not publish content that is misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or harmful.

11. Feedback and Inquiries

For any editorial-related questions, feedback, or corrections, please reach out via the Contact page on our website at www.nijuze.com.
