Dar es Salaam. Young Africans Sport Club cruised to a 2–0 victory over Malawi’s Silver Strikers at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 25 October 2025, securing their place in the next round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

The Tanzanian champions got off to a flying start when defender Dickson Job opened the scoring in the sixth minute, sending the home fans into early celebration. Yanga maintained control throughout the first half, pressing high and dominating possession. Their efforts were rewarded again in the 34th minute when Ivorian forward Pacôme Zouzoua doubled the lead with a composed finish.

Despite Silver Strikers’ attempts to mount a comeback, the visitors struggled to break through Yanga’s solid defence. The hosts displayed impressive tactical discipline, keeping a clean sheet and managing the tempo of the game until the final whistle.

The victory at Mkapa Stadium continued Young Africans’ strong form in continental competition. The club has now been the first to score in four of their last five matches and has kept up a consistent record of fewer than 4.5 cards in ten consecutive games — a reflection of both their control and composure on the field.

Silver Strikers, who had earlier defeated Yanga 1–0 in the first leg on 18 October 2025 in Lilongwe, were undone by the home side’s aggression and intensity. The 2–0 result overturned the deficit, sending the Tanzanian side through on aggregate.

Zouzoua and Job were instrumental for Yanga, combining defensive stability with attacking precision. Their early goals set the tone for a confident performance that reaffirms the club’s ambitions for continental glory.

The match drew wide attention from football fans across Africa, with live updates and statistics provided by Sofascore, a global platform that tracks more than 500 football leagues and tournaments.

With this result, Young Africans Sport Club — affectionately known as Yanga SC — have once again demonstrated their dominance at home and strengthened their pursuit of success in Africa’s top club competition. Silver Strikers, meanwhile, will turn their focus back to domestic football after a challenging continental campaign.

Match Summary:
Young Africans 2 – 0 Silver Strikers
Venue: Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam
Scorers: Dickson Job (6’), Pacôme Zouzoua (34’)
Competition: CAF Champions League – Qualification Round 2
Date: 25 October 2025
